How Psychometry is Similar to Dream Interpretation
Psychic reading is all about discerning information; about a person, his/her past or future. In most psychic readings, the person is present with the psychic as the reading is being made. For instance, for someone’s dreams to be deciphered, a sit down with the psychic is needed.
One of the few that do not require the person to be near the psychic is psychometry. In this kind of practice all that is needed is an object belonging to that person. It is claimed that just by touching that object the psychic may be able to feel the impressions left by its owner. It is said that through this physical contact, a psychic can tell a lot about its owner. He can get impressions from it such as tastes, smells and sometimes emotions that the owner experienced while say, wearing a bracelet.
The past is not erased. It is recorded in the aura of the object, which then is picked up by psychics through the vibrations that they feel when they come into contact with it. Though not 100% accurate, this practice has been used by psychics to help police locate missing people.
We can draw some similarities between psychometry and dream interpretation. Both methods are about the interpretation of images, emotions, even sounds that come to mind when looking for deeper meaning. Some may be detailed while others remain vague. Though these images or impressions may not make sense at first glance, they may hold some deeper significance unknown to the psychic but important to the person being searched for.
Researchers believe that the ability of the human mind, when in a relaxed, uninhibited mode, is also primary to both methods.
